Dear Momther,
Guess what? I'll be in Columbia City for another six weeks! I've been here for 41/2 months already! Ask Chad what the longest he's spent in an area for. ugh, if I'm here for 71/2 months I think I'll die. Go ahead and send the package. It's crazy that I'll be calling home in a month. May 11th is Momther's Day! make sure that this time, Chad isn't on the toilet when I call. We have a full time car now. The Elders who we got it from got a 2013 Subaru Legacy with literally less than 200 miles on it. They drove it from the factory to the dealership to Huntingdon Indiana. I don't even think I've been in that new of a car until I've been on my mission! The mission re-sells the cars afterwards. That's why they have us keep track of the miles. We've been hard at work trying to keep busy. A member family in our ward, their daughter just got home from her mission on Saturday, and in Gospel Doctrine she was asking her dad who all of the new faces were, because in the year and a half she was gone, there were a LOT of changes in the ward. Area seventy, Stake President, The ward itself, it's crazy. But I just realized that I'll have to deal with that too when I get home... it almost seems kinda scary to think about. I love you so much. The church is true.

Dear Momther,
This week has been quite stressful. with the somewhat warmer weather came somewhat more frequent persecution. It is VERY difficult to bite my tongue when some of things are said. I've been studying the New Testament in my personal study, and I continue to be suprised by how perfectly sound the Church is. Every Jot and Tittle has been restored. The only way I'd be able to deposit the checks is through a western Union bank or wire transfers. There are no Western Unions on our area, and i don't know how to do wire transfers so I'll just Mail it to you today. I love you so much, and I'll write you a paper letter soon. The Church is True!

Dear Momther,
The next transfer is Wednesday the 24th. Haha, My birthday present is either being transferred or staying in Columbia City! I was hoping in the birthday box as well you could include some stamps? They're expensive and we live on welfare. (70 bucks for two weeks. It goes fast between laundry, car washes, hair-cuts, and groceries). It's been a difficult week. We've dropped most of our investigators, and also our golden one from Guam is going through some extreme personal turmoil right now. I want to stay in Columbia City, but at the same time, I want out of Columbia City. Things have chugged along and are steadily improving, and we're finding ways to help the ward with missionary work, and it all starts at the end of the transfer... ugh. By the way... You may get a letter with a Hawaiian Lei in it, heh heh heh. I told you I'd send you one. Also, how have the Garcia Boys been? I believe I saw them at church once or twice before I left, but in Priesthood session, there was a talk about ministering, and it reminded me of them. I'd like to get their address and send em a letter. It's hard to believe I've been doing this for almost 7 1/2 months! Holy Cow! I've already been in Columbia City for 4 1/2! A couple nights ago, I had The Homecoming Dream... Ask Chad about it... It was Awful. I love Y'all, The church is True!

Dear Momther,
It's that time again! I'll need my meds by the end of the week. I heard you hiked down to dusty lake and back twice! How has Ethan been? I heard that you guys are getting pounded pretty hard by some freak storms. Hail, tornadoes, etc. How's Herckie doing? Has he been spending quality time in my bedroom, or has he pulled my covers off and made a nest yet? It's been a while since he's done that. Well if I stay here in Columbia City for another transfer, then I'm going to be transferred into the new Ohio Cincinatti Mission. Two stakes in Indiana are being integrated in. We now have four assistants as well, so that when President Collins Goes on the 1st of July, then thre will be one trained Assistant to the President that will be sent over to the new mission. Have you been having daily family prayer and scripture study? Have you been studying Preach My Gospel? Have you been praying for and acting upon missionary opportunities? There was a major focus this Conference on missionary work. D&C 18:10, 15-17 puts it clearly that (I am paraphrasing as well) the worth of Souls is great in the sight of God, and if you should try with all your might to bring someone who has been 'lost in darkness' back into the light how great shall you joy be with that soul? When we bring others unto Christ we have performed a sevice for them in which they will be eternally grateful. Verse 17 packs the punch though. "You have My Gospel before you." We have the truth. The law of testimony is that we must share it. Imagine standing before God at Judgement, and hearing him list all of he opportunities that we have missed to share the gospel to the Elect of God. He might say; 'Your co-worker had been struggling with the death of a friend or relative. Why didn't you share your testimony of the Plan of Salvation that I have written so all may find peace?' How will you respond? Maybe it will be a co-worker, or a friend, or even another member, active or not. How will you respond? This letter is not just directed to you. Share this section with the rest of the family, with Chad, Ethan, Meagan, Chuck, Grandma and Grampa, with the ward as well. Prayerfully seek these opportunities to share the Gospel that has been laid before us. Never forget that some of us still walk in darkness, and wander down forbidden paths. As members of the Church of Christ, we have the sacred responsibility to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things and in all places. Be the hand that pulls that soul out of the darkness. Be the light that will guide them back to the Fold of God. KNOW THAT THIS WORK IS NOT DONE ONLY BY THOSE WEARING A NAMETAG! IT IS DONE BY EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, AND THAT IS WHEN IT IS MOST SUCCESSFUL! The Lord is Hastening his work. Labor in the Vineyard now, because "It is getting late."
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Dear Momther,
Last night, my dinner consisted of mac and cheese, a microwave burrito, and some - just Kidding! April Fool's!
That was my lunch, minus the burrito. Well, I've been in columbia city for almost 4 1/2 months. It's Crazy! you'll never guess what the weather is like here. on our way here it was SNOWING! in APRIL! WHEN WILL SPRING ARRIVE? We went on splits with the assistants the other day, Elder Vang went with one and I went with the other, and we just blitzed our area. We found a lot of potentials, and we also had one of 'em show up to church yesterday. He's an older gentleman, and it was REALLY funny because one of the sisters in the ward asked us who he was because 'he looks really nice.' hehe. she also volunteered to help teach him. (Make sure Chad reads that part). Also, if ya wanna watch a show that'll give you a bit of Indiana humor, it's on netflix, it's called Parks and Recreation. they make cracks about Cities in Indiana all the time. (A member told me about it.) one of them is in our stake. "That's bad. Like Fort Wayne Bad." heheh. We're teaching someone in fort wayne though and she's been to church twice already. She's scheduled to be baptized on may 11th. Please, don't ever miss an opportunity to help the missionaries. If you're not working, and they need help, you probably don't have anything better to do, so go help 'em! Send me out the addresses of the missionaries in our ward. I'd really like to see how they're doing. I know the church is True. Jesus Is The Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Dear Momther,
I love you mom. It's snowing here. I'm not sure if spring will ever come, but it's just been dumping down here. Every time the snow melts, we get another two or three inches. It's crazy. I've been making an object lesson cookbook. It has a bunch of object lessons that we use, and how to make them and do them. It's pretty fun. My new compadre' is Elder Vang. He's from California. His family is Hmong (Laos and Thailand, Hmong are not a recognized nation) And he's super cool. We are currently teaching a lady from Guam. Her name is Luminanda (Lumi for short). She's already been to church once, and is attending the Relief Society Broadcast tomorrow! She's totally Legit! These past couple weeks have been a bit difficult. Stressful would be the better word. We've been doing a lot of finding, and we've seen miracles come from it, it's just hard to adapt to new teaching methods and whatnot. The ward is starting to show more support. Little things here and there are popping up out of the woodwork. But I also have a feeling that I'm going to bee here when the Mission Boundaries change in July. The Fort Wayne Stake and the Muncie Stake will be integrated into the new Ohio Cincinatti Mission on July 1st. Whoever is in those areas when he change happens are going to be integrated into the new mission. But we won't know until then. Elders are typically in columbia city from 4 1/2 to 6 months. One elder was here for 7 1/2 months. Whatever happens, the Lord is in it. For my Birthday, I was wondering if you'd send me out one of those 1st edition Book of Mormon replicas? The orange ones that have no columns or verses. That'd be a lot of fun. I love you so much. talk to ya next week!

Dear Momther,
I am not being transferred, so send that package in! 604 W Van Buren #4 Columbia City. We're losing our car, :,( we now have to share it with another companionship. Our area covers about 6 cities, and two areas of fort wayne. Everywhere is about fifteen miles + away. Either we're biking or the ward is gonna hafta man up and help us fulfill our calling. If they don't get on board, our numbers are gonna tank, and I don't want that to happen. Elder Proctor's leaving, so we have to drive down to Indianapolis on wednesday. ugh, i'm not looking forward to handing the keys over. Also, I need socks. i'm about out of them. Also, could you get the TomTom, and update it and send it out? it'll be very helpful. Remember that the Atonement can heal all wounds. Read the 138th Section of the Doctrine and Covenants. When Christ was in the tomb, He essentially opened the Spirit Prison Mission. Grandpa is there, fulfilling his desire to share the Gospel with others. I was speaking with a convert last night, and he has had a heck of a journey. His testimony and conviction of the truth was one of the most powerful I had ever heard. I realized something as well. When he looked me in the eyes and said "One day, I want to be Elder. I want to do what you're doing, I want to be a Missionary." I realized how important we are, as members, and as missionaries. I will forever be grateful for those two young men in suits and ties who knocked on Grandma and Grandpa's door. Without them, my life would be very different. The members are the missionaries. We just teach. The difference a member can make in the life of another person is the most incredible thing. I challenge you to do the same thing President Collins challenged us to do. Be a missionary. Don't just be on Missions. How is it that we too often miss that? We seem to think that something awful will happen if we open our mouths. Elder M Russell Ballard addressed the mission a couple weeks ago and told us a story of his missionary work that morning at the hotel. He was talking to one of the employees and told him who he was, shared his testimony and asked if he would be interested in having the missionaries stop by. The employee replied 'no.' Even Apostles face rejection. Be a Missionary to someone. Be their eternal friend. The Church is True.
